What’s The Point

Section: - 5 - (CJB)*

The Questions That Need Answering - Previous Section

Can Man live without committing evil?

Now that Noah’s righteous family are the only living humans can they continue without acting in an evil way?

What we need to keep in mind is the removal of Sin can only be done by a Perfect Sinless Man. Although Noah was considered to be Righteous this was only deemed to be righteous because of his obedience to God’s requests or rulings.

It is not long before Noah gets himself drunk, displays himself uncovered, naked, that one of Noah's sons looks on him in wrong way, a curse is invoked and the result is his son is cursed. That child, Cannan ends up allowing himself to influence by Satan to bring about much the same behaviour the occurred before the flood. I will not go into this here as it is more that we need to understand at this time.

Let’s continue to follow the righteous or those deemed to be righteous by their obedience to God’s purposes. Let’s skip to story of the Tower of Bable for a later time.

In Genesis 11 we begin to hear about Abram who later was renamed Abraham.

Before we go any further, I want to re-emphasise a principle that has to be kept in mind as we move through the stories of the Faithful Righteous. The ones who follow on the main theme of the Bible. God called those who were Faithfully Righteous to be ‘set apart’.

Why are people called to be set apart from those around them? These were to be people that became an example of what God calls being Righteous?

I think this is why many people seem to feel is that these “special” people are in some way superior to everyone else. It is not a question of being ‘superior’ it is that those ordinary people who have decided to be obedient to God’s Plan are to be an example of how anyone can be an agent against evil.

As we follow Abram’s journey to becoming Abraham we see the way he trained his family after him that, it is possible to be ordinary and still, please God. To be given the ability resist the power of evil even though they were all fallible.

Abraham who was later to be called The Father of Faith, had to go on a long journey to show himself as faithful. I am getting ahead of myself, but I need to show the direction we are going.

As we continue reading the Bible’s narrative, we see that Abraham’s family becoming Isreal, later going to Egypt and becoming a nation. Then God delivering them out of Egypt, then gave them the written Law, moving into and defeating the inhabitancy of Cannan, and settling there, they were still called to be set-apart for God. Even though God had separated them for Himself they still acted in a way of being disobedient to God.

I want you to understand this main thought that man has always battled against the forces of evil and those that were obedient to God’ Plan were able to be victorious. God never gave up on Isreal even though they at times were disobedient to his Law.

To bring this down to a simple statement, all these are an example to us now of how through being obedient evil is destroyed. When ordinary people who trust that God is able to bring the forces of evil to nothing by them displaying the Light of God in their obedience.

Let’s unpack some more in the next Post.
