Made Into The Image of Christ

This Is A Very Important Study

I am going to take the standpoint that you have not had any contact with Christian teaching and begin with the very basics of this teaching.

So regardless of whatever you understand of this topic is I want to say that having good grasp of this is vital. Having the correct understanding of our relationship to Jesus is so important I will take some time to fully explain this teaching.

Let's start with the foundational truth that nothing you can do can restore the broken relationship you have (in fact all Mankind has), with God Our Father. Well, there is one thing that you can do and that is receive the Gift from God which, is the Life that is given through Jesus His Son.

I am taking the stance that you have done this hence you are reading this page.

Knowing how this occurs is simple, profound, and extremely grounding.

I have stated in other post [opens in a new page], Man or Mankind was created as a tree-part being having a Body, being a Soul Being, and a Spirit as a life source.

In the beginning before The Fall of Man this Spirit life force was God's eternal Life because Sin had not entered the picture. Once Adam transgressed Sin entered his being and the eternal part of his life souce left too. The Spirit life still had its origin in God, but it had lost its God connection.

Adam and Eve did not have any children before The Fall so, when they did have children the only life they could pass on was this "Fallen Life". Hence as the scriptures says, "all have sinned and fallen from the Glory of God".

This is why we all need to have the Life that is offered through Jesus Christ.

So, how does this play out in our daily life? When a child is born it receives a Soul Life from both parents. This gives the child a collection of characteristics from both parents of various and differing combinations that make it an individual different from any other child.

Sin as I have previously described, is wilfully acting from one's own decision, had not entered the child at this point. [NB: - A newborn child although only having the Spirit life from Adam, has not use their will to act independently from their own knowledge of Good and Evil. Hence a new bornchild if it dies before it has made that "Will Decision" is allowed into Heaven because they are Innocent.]

A person, even a child, needs to realise that making any of life choices from their own understanding, this acting on their own, is Sin. This because they are drawing on God's Life our Spirit life source, the life they received from their parents for their own benefit.

What God the Father desires for us is to live a full life free from guilt and that Life can only be had by accepting God's Gift - The Life of Christ - then that change of life can occur.

This is long explanation of the process, but it is important to be clear just how you came to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. How your New Life has come in to your being and how you are to live out that Life.

When you made that confession of faith that you were receiving Jesus as Lord, that included you were going to allow the Life of Christ to guide you. What happened? The life you received from your parents (Adam's life) was removed and the Life of Christ came in, His Spirit.

This is what is means when the scriptures state we have received the 'Nature of Christ'. God in a miraculous way has shared the Spirit of Christ with us. Since we are a Soul Being and our will decisions are now given life from the Life of Christ and not from our old Adamic spirit, we are able to live our life free from Sin.

As far as God is concerned the only Life, He sees in us is His Son's Life. This is how we are made into the Image of Christ.

If this was all that it took to become a Christian, then we would all be laughing.

You will remember that you are a Soul Being. All of your will decisions that you have made still have some place in your actions, thoughts, and habits. These have to be replaced by new decisions. The good news is the Spirit of Christ gives you the power over these as you draw on His ability to make these changes.

As we continue through the following studies this process will be clearly demonstrated and explained. The main point that I want you to know that regardless of how good or bad your journey may seem to be you should never come under condemnation. The flaws that will appear are only made visible so you can judge them as wrong and seek His ability to make the change.
