Why Understanding The Beginning Is Important
There is a "Law of First Mention" that is important for a student to understand when studying Scripture. The student needs to realise this Law so as to get the whole picture of what is being related.
When a topic is first mentioned there is a dept of meaning which a first is not easiely seen but as you think, meditate, on what has been said a greater meaning comes to light. This is study on it's own but to make things simple I will just go one layer deep.
The Man is given the privledge to deside for himself how he will live his life out. This Free Choice is a God-like charactistic in that God is able to make choices to do what ever He wants. The thing that makes Him sovereign is that he only chooses to do what is Good and Rightious. He is commited to be separate from anything that is harmful or self gratifying.
The problem is someone has already made a decision in the heavenlies to make a decision in a selfish way which has created a delema that has to be resolved. More of this later but for now the focus is on how The Man will make his stand as "Being made in the Image of God".
The Man has to make this decision without the constraint of coercion of any outside influence. There is a lot more to back this thought up but it not useful to go into it here.
To put it simply here The Man has to make the choice is he going to trust God to guide his "lack" of knowledge [Man had not tasted of the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil"] or would he make the choice have that power himself and eat of the forbidden tree!
We now know what happened so the story moves on and we will take up more explaination as we explore this at a later time.
